In Nuremburg with K&U Hausmesse 2014 – Wein radikal anders
posted on 27 November 2014Gorgeous, wonderful tasting organised by K&U di Martin Kossler, Dunja Ulbricht and their team. They’re a modest-sized importer in Nuremburg, very special persons, all of them, and they simply exude that spirit, in their remarkably-warm hospitality and generosity, and in every perfect organizational detail of this event that runs for two days every year. It includes some 70 selected wine producers, hailing from Germany, Austria, France… a very careful selection that ensures that each winery has a distinctive and outstanding wine to offer, but above all unique, representative of its own terroir. The tasting’s participants are wine lovers and wine-knowledgeable private customers, and participation (paid, an only by invitation) was impressive
The location was intriguing–a no-longer-used factory building right in the middle of a permanent exhibition of vintage automobiles. The entire event was lively, and with very high-class catering throughout, plus a final dinner with all the producers. I found it fascinating to be able to taste all those wines–organic, biodynamic, conventional–nor did those labels mean much, with such high-quality, utterly-distinctive wines!
I was delighted to be a K&U selected winery, and I fervently look forward to a lengthy collaboration.
A brief report, with photos of some friends… Oh, I forgot: Nuremburg is beautiful!
